Cooling down with water soccer!
Participants and supporters enjoyed the many engagement activities such as Water Soccer tryouts and Q&A contests throughout the event. Players from the Geylang International Football Club (GIFC) first team such as Isa Halim and Gabriel Quak made a special appearance and treated participants and supporters to an exclusive Meet-and-Greet session. The players even played a fun match with the kids and gave away football premiums and match tickets.
GIFC players inspiring the young players!
The spirited ‘Masters’ players!
For many of the participants, Futsal is a great way to bond not just with your friends but families. It was an amazing sight to see kids as young as 3 years old developing nifty footwork with the soccer ball as they came down to support their dads! Amongst the participants, Mohamed Azwan, from National Transport Workers’ Union (NTWU), said that soccer is a way for him to bond with his son. Aside from competing in the Men’s Masters, the 51 year old veteran was also the coach of his son’s team, 8m United, which emerged Champion in the U21 category on Saturday.
Azwan (1st from left) coached his son, Azim’s (4th from left) team, which emerged the champion in U21 category.
